Betty Dawsey knows that breaking things off with Thom Lange is for the best. He’s nice, but boring, and their relationship has lost its spark. But steady and predictable Thom, suddenly doesn’t seem so steady and predictable when their condo explodes and she’s kidnapped by a couple of crazies claiming that Thom isn’t who he says he is.

Thom is having a hellish week. Not only is he hunting a double agent, but his fiancĂ©e dumped him, and thanks to his undercover life, she’s been kidnapped.

Turns out Thom is Operative Thom and he’s got more than a few secrets to share with Betty if he’s going to keep her alive. With both their lives on the line, their lackluster connection is suddenly replaced by an intense one. But in his line of work, feelings aren’t wanted or desired. Because feelings can be a lethal distraction.
Around the holidays I saw a twitter thread talking about how bonkers this book is, so I decided to give it a try! I don't read a lot of romantic suspense so this was a fun one. Also, the cover model totally looks like Keanu Reeves, right? It sold me! This was also my first book from this author, but I definitely will read another from her.

Pretty sure I read this book in two days, also I read it during the holidays at my parent's house so I had nothing to do anyway. The book was pretty fast paced so I couldn't stop reading because I just wanted to know what happened. I felt for Betty, because she was like "please get away from me, ya boring!" but Thom really was not at ALL!

I honestly was getting kinda of concerned about this book because it seemed like it was maybe not going to be an HEA, but romance readers had talked it up so I had to believe another twist was coming. I'm being super vague to not give anything away, but this book was a fun ride!
