He’s a player in more ways than one…
College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.
Now he’s going to need to up his game…
After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.
I reviewed the first book in this series The Deal last month, but I actually read it awhile ago, so when I started up this second book I kind of forgot that Logan was in love with Hannah. I really felt for the dude, but I was really glad the way this was handled, and it didn't make it a love triangle. It also causes Logan a lot of grief because it makes him second guess why he's interested in Grace. He tries to do the right thing, because he doesn't want to hurt her, but at the same time it hurts them both. Ugh, Logan, boy you are dumb, but I did enjoy you work to win that girl back.

I wasn't completely sold on the romance between Grace and Logan, but it also just felt so very college to me. He ends up forgetting what room his buddy lives in and knocks on her door and they end up hanging out and hooking up. It does feel realistic to me, I mean hey I met my partner at a friend's birthday party in college and we've been with each other ever since, so these meet cutes in college can totally happen!

I did get a kick off of how Grace doesn't just go right back to him, but rather gives him a series of insane tasks to complete in order to just go on one date with him. That made me laugh a lot, because they are all really ridiculous.

Like, the first book, the hero in this one has some demons in his past he needs to deal with. For Logan he is giving up his dreams in the NHL because he firmly believes family has to help one another and him and his brother need to be there for his dad. It really broke my heart to see what he has gone through.

Don't worry this book does have a happy ending! I admit, I didn't quite like this one as much as the first book, but I still really enjoyed it. I've actually blown through the whole series, and I just want more books in this series!
