She’s good at achieving her goals…
College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.
But the game just got a whole lot more complicated...
Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

This one is a hard review for me to write, because I LOVE Tucker from the other novels, but his story is really heavy and angsty. I really felt for him, because although he has some fun sexy times with his lady, it ends in an unplanned pregnancy and she really holds him at arms length for like no reason at all. That's not really a spoiler, because if you read the third book you know what happens with them, and the summary basically tells you. However, it took FOREVER just to get to this point.

Tucker is still awesome in this book, and being the "mom" of the hockey dudes, he's a perfect as a young dad! He takes everything in stride and he really just wants Sabrina to know he cares and wants to do the best for them. I just wanted her to let him! I am really glad that even though they have an unplanned pregnancy it doesn't hold her back from her plans to go to Harvard Law. Get it girl! I just really wish she would have told him how she felt about him. I understand she felt like she trapped him, but he was smitten with her from hello. It just drove me crazy that she wouldn't tell him how she felt and held him at arms length pretty much the whole book, when we knew that Tucker was crazy for her the whole time.

I warmed up to Dean in the third book, because there was definitely more to him than what we see in the other books, but I really HATED him in this one. He was so adamant that Sabrina was ruining Tuck's life and she should get an abortion. I did love the Tucker got snappy with him telling him to not speak bad about the mother of his child. Those two have history and they do hash it out a bit, but the way he was acting was so childish and I hated it. I also couldn't stand Tucker's mom, she was so rude to Sabrina, but of course Tucker is a mama's boy so she can't say anything to him.

Although, Tucker is great and I'm glad when these two finally get together for real, I have to say this was my least favorite of the series. That being said, I am so amped for the spin-off series that Kennedy is working on. And by amped, I mean I already reads books one and two and now I have to impatiently wait for book three coming in October!
