#MeetTheBlogger: Dear Geek Place #wyrdandwonder

Hi, everyone! Something new for Deanna Reads Books, is a feature I have been wanting to do for awhile.

I am a big supporter of other bloggers, and for the positivity in the book blogging community so I decided to start a feature to showcase other bloggers. This is a completely new feature on the blog, so if you are still interested in being featured you can fill out the google form here. I'm not sure yet if this is going to be a monthly or bi-monthly yet...but we shall see!

This month, I have Lisa from Dear Geek Place! Who is also co-hosting #WyrdandWonder this year, so I thought it was appropriate to have her feature post go up this month.

Blog name:

What made you want to start a blog?

Having too much enthusiasm for really good books and having nowhere for it to go, basically! I like to share my thoughts with others, and to recommend really great books when I find them.

What do you like the most about blogging?

Finding other, equally enthusiastic people to talk about books with is really encouraging. And the process of writing about books often helps me to articulate my thoughts on them.

What struggles or pet peeves do you have about blogging?

I am NOT good at keeping to a schedule, though goodness knows I keep trying anyway! Ever the optimist... But really, I find it less stressful (usually) to just let posts happen. It's not really a pet peeve but I find myself confounded by how some people manage to post content every day!

Favorite Genres

Science fiction, fantasy, romance, and many sub-genres in between!

Favorite Authors

Seanan McGuire, Emma Newman, Amal El-Mohtar, Ellen Kushner, Becky Chambers.

What's the most important thing you have learned since you started blogging?

That you don't need to write a certain way (or to a certain schedule!) if it doesn't work for you. Your blog is your own; the only person you need to satisfy is yourself.

How long have you been blogging?

Almost seven years, though that's over two different blogs (one now retired!).

Where else can we find you talking about books? (twitter handle, instagram, goodreads, etc)
