Cam Brickley and his pro hockey teammates bet on everything: who can win five faceoffs in a row, who can do forty pushups in less than a minute, who can eat a ghost pepper without puking. But when his buddies bet him he can’t date the same woman—like, say, the hot blonde over at the bar—for two months and not fall in love, he’ll take that bet all
day. Then he’ll laugh all the way to the hockey arena, where they’ll be washing his jock straps for the rest of the season, because Cam’s never giving up his bachelor lifestyle.

Olivia Lockwood, heiress to the Lockwood Industries fortune, is used to people using her for her money and family connections. When Cam Brickley hits on her in a club, Olivia’s first instinct is to brush him off. But he couldn’t be using her for her money, since he has more than enough of his own. Cam’s gorgeous and built, and it would be no hardship to go out with him . . . besides, he’d be the perfect spokesperson for the children’s charity she works with. Maybe it’s time for her to start using people.

Cam and Olivia are both in it for something. What they don’t know yet is that they’re playing for keeps.
Okay, so clearly I am on a romance kick right now, and I think I've found my niche. (Sorry, I'm totally not sorry about it and get used to it). I'm getting more comfortable with adult romance, but it's definitely something I don't shout to the rooftops about. I don't know why I am like this, because I really don't think you need to be afraid of liking what you like. I'm going to blame society!

Anyway! I'm pretty sure another book blogger mentioned this book and I checked it out and it seemed interesting to me. I didn't realize it was the end of a series, but in these types of romance books you really don't need to read the other ones when the focus is on the romance between Olivia and Cam.

I loved the setup of this one. Kind of like a She's All That bet, and you know of course that in the end Cam and Olivia are going to catch feelings. How could they not? Their budding romance was so entertaining to me, especially how horrible their first date goes! I was thinking, "wait, really?" The setup of how they get together was the best part, and it was entertaining to watch these two dummies pretend that they weren't in love with each other the whole.

One thing I really loved about this one was that Olivia was so opinionated and strong in her convictions. I also loved that she really put herself out there in starting up the Charity, even though her family just doesn't understand it. Her family was kind of the worst, to be honest.

This was my first book I've read by Kelly Jamieson, but I might go back and read the others in the series, or pick and choose which ones. It's clear to me that she actually understands hockey just from the way she wrote about it and from Cam's perspective. There have been other hockey romances I've read where it felt like the author didn't even know the basic rules of the game. I wasn't surprised when I read the author's note and it turns out she's a Winnipeg Jets' fan! I think she really brought a level of reality with hockey into this book, that made it interesting to me on another level.
