Deanna Listens: Why I will unsubscribe to your podcast

Deanna Listens is a monthly feature on the first Monday of every month...err sometimes when I remember to do it, I created to showcase some of my favorite podcasts.

This month I wanted to do a little something different for Deanna Listens, instead of featuring a podcast I love, I want to talk about why I will HARD PASS on podcasts. I don't want this feature to become too stale, so I wanted to shake some things up! Also, I don't think I would be able to sustain a podcast feature that is just SOLEY on featuring podcasts. I'm also not going to tell you which podcasts these are from, because some of you have given me suggestions, and I don't want to tell you that I ended up hating those.

So WHY do I unsubscribe to podcasts?

You haven't uploaded a episode since 2016

This one is super important to me. If you haven't uploaded an episode of this podcasts in years, why should I even bother? Also, how did I even find your podcast?!? So this is partly my fault too. However, if you haven't updated in so long, to me that says this was just a passing phase for you, so I am ready to move on.
I hate your voices

Sorry this is a personal preference for me, but if I can't stand your voices I am going to bounce. To be fair, I wasn't really that big of a fan of the voices of the ladies from Stuff You Missed in History, but than Holly started to grow on me because she became a co-host on Full of Sith. So sometimes I can give a podcast a second chance, but usually I don't.

I just don't care about what you are taking about

I have started podcasts that I thought I would love, but they end up talking too much early on about stuff I don't care about. They get a little too into the weeds before actually getting to the meat of the subject, so I have to bounce. Sometimes what they are talking about is just way too boring, that I have to stop because I just don't care.

Don't agree with your opinions

Sometimes it's just a matter of personal preference. Sometimes I don't agree with something a podcast is talking about, and usually that's okay, but if it's consistent I figure it's time for me to move on. There is no point me suffering through a podcast that I just am not enjoying.

One day I think I will talk about WHY I like a podcast and stick around with them, but for now I just wanted to talk about what makes me bail on a podcast. Do you have a dealbreaker with podcasts that makes you stop listening to them?
